Use Current Item Cost Attribute - Impact on Miscellaneous Transactions UI

Use Current Item Cost attribute in Inventory Organization Parameters: Impact on Miscellaneous Transactions UI

In Oracle Fusion Inventory Management, the "Use Current Item Cost" flag determines whether the system uses the existing item cost during transaction creation. When enabled, it automatically sets the "Use Current Item Cost" field to "Yes" on the Create Miscellaneous Transactions page. This ensures that for transactions like miscellaneous issues or receipts, the current on-hand item cost is applied, instead of a manually entered cost.

What happens when the "Use Current Item Cost" flag is enabled in Inventory Organization Parameters -

  1. System defaults Use Current Item Cost Flag to "Yes" on the Create Miscellaneous Transactions UI.
  2. If you're creating a miscellaneous transaction, and this flag is enabled, then the system will automatically use the current cost of the item on hand when calculating the transaction's cost.
  3. The attribute provided in the Inventory Organization Parameters works only with defaulting the value as Yes if this checkbox is enabled.
  4. If the checkbox is disabled, then it doesn't default any value in the miscellaneous transactions UI. It remains Null and users need to specify manually if it is Yes or No.
